I just got back from the fireworks and they were definitely pretty amazing. I was standing very near the waterfront on the Avenue of Stars right by the New World Center. Pretty close to the Bruce Lee statue and the huge Starbucks in case you care to google it. The fireworks were launched from 3 or 4 boats in Victoria Harbor. It was 30 minutes of booms. And hundreds and hundreds of yards of shuffle walking combined with basket weaving. All the main roads are closed to vehicles so it was kind of mind blowing to see these huge streets full of people. Pretty cool. And once again the police presence, organization and crowd control were top notch.
Things on my mind from tonight...
Asian people love to take pictures. Even here. My head was someone's tripod for a while and I am not joking. And for a longer while this person's camera strap was hanging down into my face because he was shooting right over the top of my head.
"Wow" sounds the same in Cantonese as it does in English. Ooooh and ahhhhh also sound the same.
It is confirmed that I both love and hate crowds of people all at the same time.
