8 hours ago tomorrow. What?
B and I were discussing the time change recently between Portland, Oregon and Hong Kong. I told him Hong Kong is 16 hours ahead of us.
He blinked twice, furrowed his brow and said "Well if it's 16 hours ahead then they're 8 hours behind. That's a smaller number. Why don't you subtract 8 hours?"
Me: "Because they are 16 hours ahead not 8 hours behind. My math is easier. Switch the pm to am in your mind, then just add 4."
B: "No way. I'm not going to do it like that. It's way easier to just think of it as 8 hours ago. But it's tomorrow."
Me: "I'm still not going to do it that way."
B: "I think I just named your blog. 8 hours ago tomorrow. It makes no sense but yet it makes perfect sense just like this whole thing."
Me: "That is strangely perfect isn't it?"
Get excited--8 Hours Ago Tomorrow will be up and running within the next few weeks.
I am so glad that the blog has been named! And I do think it's a very suitable name. So I am dying to know--how would YOU figure the time change?
